If you are an energy-conscious RV owner, the Go Power Overlander solar charging system provides clean, renewable power and independence from the grid. This kit comes with everything you need to charge your RV batteries with sunlight. Using a solar panel, this system collects solar energy to create DC power that passes through a solar controller to charge your RV batteries.
The charging process starts with the solar panel, which installs on the roof of your RV. When solar energy interacts with the silicon cells in the panel, it generates a flow of DC electrical current that charges your RV's batteries. Each of the monocrystalline cells is made from a single crystal of silicon, so the electrons that create the current have more space to move, making this panel more efficient than one with polycrystalline cells. And in optimal sunlight conditions, the panel produces 200 watts per hour.
The silicon cells are set between a cushioned backing material and tempered solar glass to withstand the elements. The glass has low-iron content to provide exceptional transparency, which ensures maximum sunlight collection. Finally, the panel is framed with anodized marine-grade aluminum to resist rust and corrosion.
An adjustable mount kit (sold separately) can increase your solar panel performance by angling it for maximum sun exposure. This kit replaces the panel's existing brackets and allows it to tilt at 3 different angles. This also improves solar charging during winter months when the sun is lower in the sky.
The solar controller prevents harmful overcharging by adjusting the power generated by the solar panel before it reaches your batteries. It uses pulse width modulation technology to regulate the output through pulses that provide a consistent charge. Typically, this type of technology is a good fit for smaller systems with lower voltages.
Using a multistage charging system, the controller automatically switches voltages while the battery bank charges. This accelerates the charge, but also helps extend battery life by adjusting the voltage during the different modes. The controller is compatible with multiple battery types and includes preset charging profiles for sealed/gel, AGM, flooded/wet cell, and lithium batteries.
Charging Modes
With Maximum Power Boost Technology, you can simply press a button to activate Bulk mode for the highest charging voltage. This lets you quickly top off your battery bank before the end of the day by capturing as much power as possible.
The backlit, digital display acts as an information center for your solar panel output. It shows the charging current, battery voltage, and battery state of charge. It also allows you to input your battery type and choose a charging profile. Additionally, a built-in USB port on the front of the controller provides a convenient outlet to charge your cell phone or tablet.
It includes a Bluetooth function that lets you connect the controller to your smartphone or tablet with the free Go Power! Connect app. With this app, you can wirelessly view the same live battery information included on the display. Also, you can control your battery profile and toggle Maximum Power Boost Technology mode.
Lastly, the controller includes several built-in safety features to help protect your equipment. The charging process will shut down if the controller starts to overheat and when an overcurrent is detected. Also, if the battery or solar panel is wired incorrectly, it activates a reverse polarity alarm.
The system includes a 190-watt solar panel, a 30-amp PWM solar controller, MC4 cables, and all the necessary installation hardware.

Unit has been Awesome for keeping 2 GC2 batteries charged on travel trailer even in rainy/cloudy conditions.
The solar panel was just as expected. The install was easy, (as soon as I figured out how to run the wires from the roof to the battery compartment). Take your time, and you don't need to install the control panel in your rig. I installed it in the battery compartment, then I installed the APP on my phone.
I installed 2 100 watt panels they seem to be doing okay I average 13.4 watts of battery power, I have two marine batteries in series I have a residential refrigerator and 12 volt lites all working off solar when needed
We installed this panel on an Entegra Accolade SuperC Motorhome. The directions were easy, installation was easy and it looks great. Although we have not used it yet, we are happy thus far.
The panel keeps us powered when we are boondocking. It also keeps the battery fully charged when we're home so we never have to check it.
Super setup. The instructions were very clear and it was relatively easy to install especially if your unit is pre-wired for the Go Power solar. The price was $[XXX] cheaper than the dealer quote for the setup and I save a couple hundred dollars in labor. etrailer gets my vote for excellent service and price.
We installed these solar panels on our 2017 Forest River Sunseeker in June 2019. We love them! We dry camp regularly and never worry about low batteries or running the generator. It is well worth the investment!
Everything went well with the install. I do think that it should come with leveling sealant. Due to my travel trailer being pre-wired I had wire that I did not need and priced in with the kit. Thanks
I love "go power" the second unit that I have installed. It not only charges my house batteries but it also charges my coach battery. The system install is easy and straightforward enough. high quality workmanship and well-thought-out kit. Running the wires was the hard part!

The solar kit was exactly as represented in the description. The ability to watch a video of an installation was very helpful even though the installation was not that complicated in our case since our trailer was prewired for it. Be sure to order butyl tape and sealant to make sure the installation is waterproof. Answering questions and prompt delivery is a definite plus for working with etrailer.
Solar Panel works. Everything went well. etrailer is great. So why not 5 stars. The app that comes with the controller is junk. No other too say it. You need the app for some setting resets. I have spent more time on this, than 10 installations. The app actually caused me go with another brand solar panel for my portable one. I wish etrailer carried other brand options. I wrote this after 4 weeks of trying to this figured out, just to make sure I have tried everything I know.
Best thing I've added to the trailer. Its like keeping it plugged in all the time. Keeps my batteries charged and conditioned throughout the winter. Installation was easy as my trailer was prewired.
I love this kit and it is used to keep the coach battery charged and topped off. The panels are installed on the roof (second panel purchased). I also like the Bluetooth monitoring system that hooks to my cell phone. When I'm dry docking, it charges the battery back up after a night of running the Furnas (gas).
Speedy delivery of the item. Have not unpacked the product yet. Plan to use on trailer for extra power. Will install soon.
Easy to install in FR Wilddood FSX 179DBKX with solar ready. Connectors on roof matched what is shipped with this and the charge controller is simple to mount and connect. Hardest part was cutting the hole in the wall for the controller.
While the kit comes with hardware to mount the panel on the roof, I purchased a separate plastic mounts so I can remove the panel without removing the screws in the roof.
I have had the overlander solar package installed now for 6 months. My Jayco Greyhawk had the go power wires pre installed so the installation was very easy. My only regret was not buying two 190 watt panels. As for 4 star rating, did not have it long enough to justify 5 stars.
I have 2 deep cell lead acid batteries, the instructions are not very clear which to choose, sealed or flooded. Presently selected on flooded type and I think that maybe the controller is overcharging them, due to corrosion on the positive terminal.
I have two of these panels and the solar controller with 4ea 12v 100ah batteries on my houseboat. I power my 120v refrigerator, freezer, and ice maker. During the day there is enough Solar to power all of the devices. I run the generator an hour at night and the batteries stay above 12.4v overnight. As soon as it gets light outside, the panels start sending a charge. Within two hours of full daylight I am running purely on Solar again for the day. Very happy with my purchase.
I love my Go Power Solar system. Before getting it my coach battery would drain down even though I had everything turned off. Now when I go to the storage yard ,even after a extended period of time, my coach and chassis batteries are at 100%. I recommend the Go Power Overlander Solar Charging System RV Solar Panel.
Quick shipping arrived in great condition haven't hooked it up to my RV yet but the instructions appear to be pretty straightforward.

I love having this solar panel taking care of my batteries it reay helps with not having to run the generator on long weekend while dry camping. Installation and setup were pretty straight forward considering my rv was pre-wired for this product.Works great!

Panel, hardware and instructions were good although it would have been nice if they supplied some butyl tape and better instructions on setting up the charge controller. My biggest issue was the extremely poor location of the pre-wired system on a 2024 Jayco 195 RB. Took 6 hours to fish wires...dealer wanted to remove the wall panel to access the wires. Was able to fish wires after making special tools

My husband installed this solar panel on our travel trailer last summer without much difficulty (and his first time installing a solar panel). We have successfully used the panel last summer and a number of times this summer. We do notice that on cold overnights the travel trailer battery does die and it takes a bit in the morning for everything to warm up enough for the panel to start recharging.
